SMGH HAIRCUT CHALLENGE

Jenna Kroh, an employee at Strathroy Hospital, has begun a haircut challenge in order to raise funds toward breast cancer diagnosis and treatment programs at SMGH. Her challenge has gained supporters, including Alexxis (age 11) and Brityn (age 7) Bush, who have both decided to cut their hair in support of this cause.

"I will be accepting pledges and donations to this program up until December 31st, 2013," says Jenna Kroh.  "For these pledges I will be cutting 8-10 inches off my hair and donating it to Cancer.  If we raise collectively $10,000 or more I will be shaving my head for this cause."

"My inspiration for this fundraiser is in honor of a very special woman whom my family and friends have lost to Breast Cancer, Helen Giles.  Helen was a loving Wife, Mother and Friend who will always be remembered for her famous laugh, “teehee”.  She radiated joy, love and laughter through not only her personality but her classic blue outfits and signature lipstick," says Kroh. "I am honoured to have known Helen and her “teehee” laugh will be forever imbedded in my memory. For all those who have battled and beaten cancer and all the families who have lost someone special to Cancer I send you my love and support."

All donations will be going toward expanding breast cancer services at SMGH. This expanding services will increase access to cancer care locally and help to reduce the growing wait time for care within the region.

Jenna invites anyone who is willing to cut their hair for this cause to join this initiative. The cut/shaving of hair will be held on January 3rd, 2014 @ 12 noon in the Auditorium at the Strathroy Hospital.  Anyone who would like to participate and watch is welcome to join!
